On the 20th February, the 3rd Transnational meeting of the Green Skills at Vocational Education project (Project number – 2017-1-TR01-KA202-046803) took place in Palermo.

The project is carried out by 5 partners: CEIPES – International Centre for the Promotion of Education and Development (Italy), CETEM – Technological Research Centre of Wood and Furniture of Murcia Region (Spain), LDT – Landward research (UK), Institutul Postliceal Phoenix Asociatie (Romania) and Adana Provincial Directorate of Labour and Work Agency (Turkey), and it is funded by the European Commission within Erasmus+ programme, Key Action 2 (Strategic Partnership for Innovation and Exchange of good practices).

The aim of the project is to produce recommendations for renewing the professional curricula of two specific categories: construction and electrical operators. These recommendations should be formulated having as a key point the issues of environmental respect and climate change.

In particular, the goal of the project is to make the involved target groups aware of their choices and to contribute to the European 2020 Strategy for sustainable development.

During the meeting, the partners focused mainly on the analysis and comparison of the different curricula already existing both in schools and in VET courses.

Each of them highlighted both the strengths and weaknesses of their vocational education and training systems regarding the environmental skills taught in the several curricula.

Now, the biggest challenge for the consortium will be to create innovative and useful recommendations respecting the environmental issue and improving the curricula of construction and electrical operators.

The partners will meet again for the last transnational meeting in Cluj Napoca, Romania on 11th June 2019.
